iLead for Adult Learners

‘Leaders aren’t born they are made. And they are born just like anything else, through hard work. And that’s the price we’ll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal.’

Vince Lombardi

The need for effective leadership and skill development is clear in virtually every aspect of our lives, from our government to our businesses to our personal lives.  But if the most important person you can lead is yourself, how are you contributing to your own successful skill development and growth?

Would you like to be able to learn how to prevent and resolve conflict and make decisions that contribute to personal and organizational productivity? How about learning how to improve your communication skills and work effectively with individuals from other nations, cultures and backgrounds?  If you and your team could accomplish this, what impact might it have on your overall personal growth and the growth of your organization?

We have a training model and methodology that can get you there.  iLead 21 is a 21st Century progressive leadership development program that allows participants to embed leadership into all aspects of their professional and personal lives. It dynamically combines the best of leadership theory, 21st Century Skills, and Opportunity-Based Learning into one solid experience that will transform your personal and professional growth.

Each exercise helps participants learn, practice, and develop leadership and the 21st Century Skills that are critical to success in today’s rapidly changing world. The participant can choose the order and pace of his learning as he works through modules on global citizenship, conflict resolution, managing change, building a collaborative community, team building, diversity, and communication skills, and more.  With iLead 21 as your guide, be prepared to transform yourself into a true leader who will thrive in a globalized world.

The iLead 21 process is founded upon a set of research-based core principals that are instrumental in building leadership capacity as well as the soft skills necessary to meet the rapidly changing professional landscape.  The ability to master these principles, the process, and the skills is what separates static organizations from those that excel, modify, and stay ahead of the competition.

The Core Principles

iLead 21 invites you to explore how you can:

  1. Live a principle-driven life
  2. Manage people and resources well
  3. Build trust
  4. Create a shared vision and communicate it effectively
  5. Be passionate, motivated, and motivating

The essential 21st Century Skills are embedded in the development of the five iLead 21 guiding principles and are woven into all aspects of the learning experience.

The Learning Approach (OBL)

This transformational experience is grounded in an Opportunity-Based Learning model (OBL), which Dr. Steven Edwards first referenced as a learning model in 2012.  It focuses on the premise that every experience is an opportunity; too often, individuals, teams and organizations operate from a deficit-based model rather than a strength based perspective.   OBL focuses on every event, no matter how problematic it may appear at the time, as an opportunity for positive growth and change. OBLs provide a learning experience that will contribute to personal, team, and ultimately organizational growth.

This is not a time for attendees to sit and hear presenter after presenter, but rather a time for participants to be actively engaged in the learning process and involved in authentic learning experiences with their peers. This process permits the chance to practice skills, receive feedback, take the learning deeper and then reflect on the learning and its application in the work environment.
